The Gospel of Luke Chapter one verse four says “That thou mightiest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou has been instructed”.The history of GKMW in a similar manner seems to be good and essential to GKMW family, hence, as in Luke 1:3 “It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order…..”
1.3 Revival
In the early 1970s, there was a revival orchestrated by the move of the Holy Spirit upon the Church in some parts of Nigeria. Kwara State was one of the beneficiaries of that Revival pivoted on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues.
The teaching on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit started in Ilorin (the Kwara State capital) by a small group (who were mostly youths) headed by Late Apostle (Prof.) Ademu Idama. The group which met for vigil on Wednesdays among other programs was named “Wednesday Prayer Fellowship”.
As they prayed and witnessed to others in their homes, offices and neighbourhoods about Christ and the Holy Spirit: youth, older men and women believed and were baptized with the Holy Spirit, accompanied with speaking in tongue experience.
1.4 Tuesday Fellowship
Those newly baptized older brethren were gathered together for a fellowship prayer meeting on Tuesday evenings at the home of one of them – Chief Samuel Adeniyi. Thus by late 1972 to early 1976 there were two established Fellowship Groups in place. They were the Wednesday Prayer Group for the youths and the Tuesday Prayer Fellowship for the married brethren. The two groups were coordinated by Late Apostle (Prof.) Ademu Idama. Some brethren from University of Ibadan like Brother Abraham (Dr. Abraham Adenigba) assisted Brother Idama as he was then fondly called, with the Tuesday group; while Brother Tom (late Justice Thomas Yakubu) who was resident in Ilorin assisted with the Wednesday group. They organized camp meetings which involved the two groups and students. Such camp meetings were held during Public Holidays especially Easter and Christmas.
So the word of God grew and more people were added by the Lord to the two groups under the leadership of Ademu Idama.
1.5 Tuesday Fellowship and Benue State Creation
The creation of Benue State in 1976 affected both the Tuesday and Wednesday Groups as some of the brethren including Ademu Idama had to relocate to Benue State. The Tuesday Group was re-organised. There was the need for a successor to replace Ademu Idama to lead the Tuesday Fellowship whose members were mainly public servants. This called for prayerfully seeking the face of the Lord for a new leader.
1.6 Emergence of the New Leader
In 1977, during one of the Tuesday Prayer Fellowship meetings under the leadership of Ademu Idama, the Lord spoke through one of the sisters that Dr. O.O. Olutade be the “MOSES of my people”. This brother was relatively young both in age and in faith that was hinged on the baptism of the Holy Spirit. His choice by the Lord was like the case of young David who was chosen and anointed as king because the Lord did not choose any of his older brothers (I Sam. 16: 1-13). Dr. Olutade was prayed for by all present at that Prayer meeting.
1.7 Tuesday Fellowship and the New Leader
In 1977, following the creation of Benue State, Ademu Idama and others relocated to the new State. The Tuesday fellowship started meeting at the United Primary School, Taiwo Road Ilorin because Chief Samuel Adeniyi relocated to Kaduna. With the leading of the Holy Spirit, the Tuesday Fellowship under Dr. O.O. Olutade grew as more brethren were called out of their groups and denominational Churches. Thus the group was led to meet more than once a week. Consequently, Friday Prayer Meeting and Sunday Worship Service were added for deeper and higher teachings of the word of God.
The Camp Meetings continued to hold during the Easter and Christmas holidays. Rev. Peter Kayode Omole from Lagos, helped to encourage the growth of the fellowship which metamorphosed into Full Salvation Church with Tuesday Bible Study, Friday Prayer Meeting and Sunday Worship Service. The adoption of the name was based on the revelational understanding that Jesus redemption work is for the “whole man” i.e Spirit, Soul and Body. I Thes. 5:23 “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”
The Holy Spirit made it clear that the Church was not to affiliate herself with any denomination.
1.8 The Mandate
The vision and goal of the Church is to impact the lives of men and women, young and old through the teachings of the word of God by the hand
of the Holy Spirit. In addition to the above revelation, many more Scriptures revealed the complete work of the Lord’s redemption for mankind. In Hab. 2:14 we read “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” That “earth” is not just the physical landmass alone but also our physical bodies (which is dust – Gen. 2:7). Again Dan. 12:4 says knowledge shall increase i.e revelational knowledge. Thus the believers were to be established and be equipped as the end time saints of the Lord. The mandate given derived from the Scriptures, “make disciples and equip the saints” (Eph 4:11-13) for he end-time. In 1982, in order to pursue this vision the Church became known as “Glory Knowledge Fellowship Center” which metamorphosed to Glory Knowledge Ministries Worldwide in 1990
1.9 Glory Knowledge Ministries Worldwide Today
The Ministry under the guidance of the Holy Spirit is being enlarged. The camp meetings of the early 1980s have grown into the Annual Glory Easter Convention.
The Ministry has many Arms – like the proverbial Mustard seed in the kingdom of God (Matt. 13: 31-32) which are being developed. They include:

ARTICLE III - THE CHURCH AND ITS MEMBERS
3.1 men tend to divide the human race into classes, but the WORD OF GOD recognizes ALL MEN EVERYWHERE to be equally in need of REDEMPTION - James 1: 9- 10.
3.2 RIGHTS AND BENEFITS OF MEMBERS OF GKMW
ARTICLE IV - DOCTRINAL MATTERS
4.1 The Glory Knowledge Ministries worldwide believes:
THE SON, JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ, the second Person in the Godhead, is the Word that became flesh (John 1: 1-3). He is the Son of God born of the virgin Mary after the Holy Ghost came upon her and after being overshadowed by the power of the Highest (Luke 1: 35). Jesus Christ died on the cross at Calvary, a sacrifice for our sins. He rose bodily from the dead on the third day in a resurrected glorious body ascended to heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father, being our High Priest, Intercessor, and Advocate (1Cor. 15: 3-4, Heb. 7: 22-27, Rom. 8: 34, I Tim. 2: 5, I John 2: 1-2,). Jesus Christ is the only Way to the Father (John 14: 6, Heb. 10: 19-20).
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is eternal (Heb. 9: 14). He proceeds from the Father and the Son (John 15: 26, John 10: 30). The Holy Spirit indwells the believer (I Cor. 6: 19-20) and will abide with the saints forever (John 14: 16). The Holy Spirit guides and gives instructions to all who believe (Rev. 2: 7, 11, 17 & 29; 3: 6, 13 & 22). The Holy Spirit’s empowerment helps the believer for daily godly living and acceptable service.
3) ANGELS
From the Scriptures, we believe God created an innumerable company of spirit beings called angels (I Tim. 5: 21). They are God’s messengers on different assignments. Some are sent to help God’s people in all ages (Luke: 1: 19, Dan. 8: 16-19, Dan. 9: 21-27, Luke. 2: 13).
One of the high-ranking angels, Lucifer, left his first estate and led a rebellion against God. God sent him, Satan, and his rebellious angels now called devils/demons out of heaven (2Pet. 2: 4, Jude vs 6, Rev. 12: 7-9). Jesus Christ gave believers authority over every evil spirit and commanded us to cast them out (Matt. 10: 1, Luke 10: 1, 17-19; Mark 16: 17).
4) MAN: HIS FALL & REDEMPTION
Man who was created in the image and likeness of God (Gen. 1: 26-27) fell from divine placement through Adam’s transgression. As a result, sin came into the world, and man lost fellowship with God (Gen. 2: 7, 18, 20-25, Gen. 3: 1-19). However, because of the love of God for man, Jesus, the Son of God was manifested to undo the works of the devil. Jesus Christ gave His life a ransom for the sin of man by the shedding of His blood thereby redeeming and restoring man to His intimate relationship and fellowship with God (Rom. 3: 9-19, John 3: 16-18, Rom. 3: 23-25, I John 5: 8).
5) SALVATION / NEW BIRTH / ETERNAL LIFE
Salvation comes to man only through faith in God’s work of redemption done and made available through the shedding of the blood of Jesus Christ on the Calvary tree and His resurrection on the third day (John 3: 16-21). Man’s first step towards salvation is godly sorrow that works repentance (Rom. 5:8-11, Eph. 2:8; 2Cor. 7: 10). When we believe in Jesus Christ and confess with our mouth His Lordship over us and believe all that He stands for, we become children of God delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of God’s dear Son. We have eternal life because eternal life is found in Him (John 1: 12, Col. 1: 13-22, I John 5: 9-12).
6) THE CHURCH
The Church is God’s second institution on earth, the family being first. The Church is distinctly, preeminently and absolutely a spiritual institution created, vitalized, possessed and directed by the Spirit of God. It is His indwelling and inspiration which give the Church its divine character and purpose. The word Church means the Body of Christ called out of the world ( Col. 1: 18-24, 1Pet. 2: 9). Jesus Christ is the founder and builder of His Church (Eph. 2: 30-32, Matt. 16: 18). The Church consists of people of all colours, ages, tribes, tongues, all over the world who are no longer under condemnation because they have given their lives to Jesus Christ. The Head of the Church is Jesus Christ Himself (Eph. 1: 20-23, Rom. 12: 4-5, I Cor. 12: 27). The faith, holiness and zeal of the Church are the elements of its power. The strength of the Church does not consist in the vastness of its members and the greatness of their earthly possessions but in the holiness of her members. The Church is often referred to as the Bride of Christ (2 Cor. 11: 2, Eph. 5: 25-27).
7) BAPTISM
(a) Water Baptism:
Water baptism by immersion is administered to the individual who confesses his/her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Matt. 28: 19, Mark 16: 15-16). He/She is submerged into water and raised up figuratively implying death of the old self and rising unto newness of life in Christ.
b) Baptism by the Holy Ghost:
The Lord Jesus Christ taught His disciples extensively about the Holy Spirit and their need of Him (John 14: 16-17, 15:26, 16: 7-13 etc.). Furthermore, Jesus Christ encouraged them to wait for the endowment of power that is released by the Holy Spirit (Luke 24: 49, Acts 1: 4-8). This baptism of the Holy Spirit is accompanied by the initial speaking in an unknown tongue as the Holy Spirit gives utterance (Luke 3:16, Acts 2: 1-4, 38-39, 10: 44-48, 19: 1-7). The baptism of the Holy Spirit is real, full, and for our dispensation.
8) SPIRITUAL / MINISTRY GIFTS
Spiritual gifts are divine grace/endowment poured by God on believers. They are neither prerequisites for salvation nor indication of spiritual stand or maturity. They are what they are called (gifts). They were not labored for nor earned. Every one of us has his/her gift (Eph. 4: 7-8) as given by the Holy Spirit to build the Church of God and for the benefit of believers (I Cor. 12: 1, 4-7; Rom. 12: 6-8, I Pet. 4: 10-11). We believe in the manifestation of all the gifts; prophesying, healings, working of miracles, discerning of spirits etc. God puts them in place because the Body of Christ needs them.
God has also prepared some people to function very well in certain offices in the Body of Christ. Some of these offices are identified namely apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers (Eph. 4: 11-13). These offices will continue till we all come in the unity of faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Eph. 4: 13). That is the goal.
9) RESURRECTION
All dead will resurrect with a spiritual body (Luke 16: 19-31, Luke 23: 42-43, Rev. 20: 12-15). The dead in Christ will resurrect to the joy of their Lord (I Cor. 15: 51-54, I Thess. 4: 13-18) and the unbelievers unto everlasting punishment (Heb. 9: 27, Rev. 19: 20, 2 Thess. 1: 7-9).
10) THE HOLY COMMUNION / LORD’S SUPPER
In John 6: 53-57, Jesus expressly said, “except ye eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His blood, ye have no life in you”. He went further to list the benefits of eating His flesh and drinking His blood (John 6: 54-58). Later in Matt. 26: 26-29, Luke 22: 15-20, Mark 14: 22-25, we have the record of how the disciples were to continue to eat His flesh and drink His blood. The early apostles broke the bread regularly as we can see in the Scriptures (Acts. 2: 46). The importance of the breaking of bread was further confirmed when God gave the revelation to Apostle Paul (I Cor. 11: 23-34).
11) USE OF ANOINTING OIL
The anointing oil communicates the power of God whenever it is administered. All kings, Jewish prophets and priests in the Bible were consecrated with the holy oil. When the anointing oil was poured, the Holy Spirit came upon them. The most vivid changes that God reveals through the anointing oil can be read in I Sam. 10: 1-10, I Sam. 16: 13. In the New Testament the apostles used the anointing oil (Mark 6: 7, 12-13) and the sick were healed. We are encouraged to use the anointing oil to bring healing to people (James 5: 14). It is not obligatory and it should not be idolized.
12) THE COMING OF THE LORD & THE GATHERING OF THE SAINTS TO HIM
The Bible makes it abundantly clear that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming again.
Jesus Christ Himself taught of His return in some of His teachings and a few of His parables (Matt. 24:30, 25: 10-13, & 19, 25: 31-32). At the ascension of Jesus Christ, “two men in white garments” told His disciples, “This same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven” (Acts 1: 11). Apostle Paul, in his writing reminded the people of the coming of the Lord (II Thess. 1: 7-8; 2: 1-3; I Tim. 6: 14, Titus 2: 13, I Thess. 4: 15-16).
13) JUDGMENT
God will judge all men. However the judgment will start in the house of God (2 Cor. 5: 9-10, Matt. 16: 27, Rom. 14: 10, Rev. 2: 23b, Rev. 22: 12). At the judgment seat of Christ, every believer will receive rewards or punishment for their works (Dan. 12: 3, Matt. 25: 21, I Cor. 3: 11-15). This judgment is an evaluation of faithfulness and service within God’s family. People who do not believe in the Lord Jesus at the point of death are already under condemnation (John 3: 18-20; 12: 48). They will face the white Throne Judgment (Rev. 20: 11-15).
4.2 THE SEVEN PILLARS OF THE MINISTRY
Jesus Himself prayed “I have given them thy word……… sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” (John 17: 14-17). God Himself has given the highest premium to His word. There is no other way to easily access God and enjoy all He has put in place for the believer except through an in-depth knowledge of the word of God (John 8: 32).
The Bible encourages us to live a prayerful life (Eph. 6: 18, I Thess. 5: 7, Col. 4: 2, Jude 20). Jesus still intercedes for us (Rom. 8: 34, Heb. 7: 25). The Holy Spirit makes intercession for the saints (Rom 8: 26-27).
Members of this Ministry are encouraged to live a fasting life. Tuesday, Friday of every week, and every first three days of every month are set apart for this purpose, and other times as may be declared.
The Bible encourages us to give sacrificially (Ecc. 11: 1, Pro. 28: 27a), support the Church and her workers (Gal. 6: 6, I Tim. 5: 17-18, Luke 8: 3). Bible believers are encouraged to pay tithes and offerings (Lev. 27: 30, Deut. 14: 22, Malachi 3: 8-12, Pro. 3: 9-10, Deut. 14: 28-29). Also we are to give our first fruits (Deut. 18: 9, Pro. 3: 9, Ezek. 44: 30). As we give, God gives us all round blessings, protection, freedom from curses, abundance of material blessings.
The great benefit of consecration is that it enhances holy living thereby establishing our being candidates of heaven.
(John 17:11 & 21) cannot be met if members of His Body are not true and faithful to God, the pastoral leadership of the Ministry and one another.
critical times. No team succeeds without loyalty (Gen 11:6).
God, the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church (Matt 16:18). We must fight as an army (Joel 2:7-8).
Loyalty demands integrity and consistency. It calls for devotion to the cause of Christ. Leaders are expected to inspire real loyalty by seeing their roles as motivating and improving the total wellness of the people they supervise and not just their spiritual lives.
Loyalty will remove schism (I Cor. 1: 10-13, I Cor. 3:3-5). It is demanded of every steward (I Cor. 4:1-2). “wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him that appointed Him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house” (Heb 3:1-2). Loyalty cannot be negotiated.
